Gratitude and Thanksgiving
I’m sorry I’ve neglected my blogging over the last week or so. John & I have been busy moving into our new home. We had to get everything organized and ready, from arranging transport for our vehicles (a friend had used this service before: https://carsrelo.com/what-we-ship/motorcycle/ and it helped them a bunch!) to getting the house itself ready to go. It’s been a very busy yet exciting time for us both, I have to admit! The new house is looking lovely so far. John has just put some wall decals up in the living room whilst I’ve been building new furniture for the bedroom. I know moving house can be stressful but I’m having so much fun planning the interior design!
I’m so thankful and grateful for our new house, it’s everything we could have wished for. Speaking with our estate agent was integral to us understanding and navigating the process of buying a new home, which we can say from experience can be very stressful. It’s worth keeping in mind the availability of information you can find online too, like the articles from Bobby Bohlen regarding some of the finer details of home buying that most people simply aren’t aware of. The more you know, the easier the process can be. We don’t yet have an internet connection at our new house, so I have a few posts in store for you including: George Ann’s Cheese Ball, Butterhorn Rolls, John’s Red Beans and Rice, and Cranberry-Orange Muffins.
My father was a 30-year career Naval Officer, and I work for the Seabees, so I am acutely aware of how many dedicated men and women sacrifice holidays and time with their families to ensure we continue to enjoy freedoms in the United States that are unknown in much of the world. I am grateful to these service men and women for all they do for us everyday.
I am also thankful that John and I continue to have good jobs and job security in these tumultuous times.
Wishing each of you all the blessings and wonders of the season.
Happy Thanksgiving!
