This recipe comes from my friend, Trevor, at Sis.Boom.[Blog!]. We met through French Fridays with Dorie. Trevor is not only an inspired chef, he’s a terrific writer! If you haven’t visited his blog, there’s no time like the present! This marinade lends a refreshing blend of flavors to chicken and is perfect for a summer barbecue.
We served these Chicken Kebabs with Greek Salad, Greek Flatbread, and Tzatziki and made Gyros with them – they were incredible!
We also made grilled vegetable kebabs with the first Zucchini from our garden!
Hot Louisiana Sausage and Smoked Sausage
Cut half a Red Onion into very thin slices and immerse in a bowl of ice water. Place in the refrigerator until just before serving – I just learned this technique from our last recipe from Around My French Table. This makes the onions really crisp and removes any bitterness.
Dice 1 pound of Heirloom Tomatoes in a variety of colors
Add diced Cucumbers, if you like
Coat with 1 Cup Greek Salad Dressing
Refrigerate until ready to serve, then toss in prepared onions and 8 ounces of Crumbled Feta Cheese.
My mom brought her famous home-made Salsa with White Corn Chips and Tabouli which we served in Romaine Lettuce leaves fresh from our garden.
My brother made Santa Maria Style Beans, and my sister-in-law made these beautiful ocean-themed Sugar Cookies.
And, for dessert…I made a Chocolate Coffee Cake for John’s birthday.

I love chicken kebabs–and kebabs of any kind! It’s a mystery to me why I’ve never made them myself, considering I have such great memories of eating them when I was growing up.
Anyway, congrats on your 200th post! Yay for blogging!
