This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for this incredibly creamy, intensely-flavored Coffee Ice Cream. It’s easy to make, and even easier to eat! Its base is a cooked egg custard and it’s flavored with Instant Espresso Powder and Kahlua.
This is the first summer we’ve had an ice cream maker & we’ve been surprised how much better homemade ice cream is. So far, this is John’s favorite!
Baked Sunday Mornings is a virtual cooking group of talented bakers – we’re working our way through Baked Explorations by Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito. To check out what we’re creating, and join us, click here.
Enjoy!

I loved this one, too! And I’m not even a coffee drinker 🙂 You’ll have to share what you learn at your digital photography class…I have so much to learn!
I agree that this ice cream was super creamy and easy to make.

My all time favorite ice cream flavor, I will have to try this recipe;-)
Looks delicious. I too recently bought an ice cream maker and I purchased David Lebowitz’s book to go with it. I have been eying the coffee ice cream recipe, may have to give it a try soon.
Yours looks great. I sometimes run out of room in the freezer because of all the homemade ice cream we make.
It was a life-changing experience when I got my ice cream maker a few years ago… I absolutely love being able to make my own, and I loved this recipe too! Yum!
