BROOKSTERS! ~ Baked Sunday Mornings

September 16, 2012 by susanelester 16 Comments

Warm, chocolaty goodness!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Filling

This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge represents our first foray into Baked Elements, the top-selling cookbook on amazon!  Brooksters are a Baked signature dessert – chocolate chip cookies nestled into brownie crusts.  Yes, really!  They take a little time to prepare because the doughs have to be refrigerated before they’re combined and baked.

Ready for the oven!

You can make them in two different sizes.  The original is baked in a 4-inch pie plate, but we opted for the muffin tin size.  That makes them just the right size.  But, I’m sure I would polish off a big one, no problem!  The Baked Boys specialize in updating American classic desserts and creating new flavor combinations.

These Brooksters are a hit that is sure to please the cookie lover in your life!  A delightful combination of two favorites.

Fresh from the oven!
Don’t you just want one right now?

Because we couldn’t wait to finish baking our way through the second book before we started the new one, we’re going to a weekly schedule.  You’re welcome to join us and bake the recipes you choose. Be sure to stop by the Baked Sunday Mornings blog to see how everyone did this week.

Enjoy!
These recipes are provided for your personal use. If you publish them, or re-post them, please give me credit. Grazie e Buon Appetito!

Ooh, you got the gooey center I was hoping for! I had pretty good luck with mine except that they were underdone when I first took them out so I stuck them back in and then they were baked all the way through in the end. Nicely done!

Those look lovely, Susan! I wondered why the schedule suddenly went to weekly… thanks for the clarification. I’m hoping I can keep up. I open a show in a couple of weeks, so it’s going to get busy. I may have to skip one or two, but I will do my best! Congrats on the Brooksters. I wish you could have come over to help me with mine! 😉

The more I see the smaller size, the more I’m thinking I will try a muffin pan next time since the Brookster pan was disappointing. I gave all mine away, and now I wish I had saved just one… 😉 Can’t wait for the next baking challenge!
