Crisp on the outside – dense and chewy on the inside |
This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for Oatmeal Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Scones from the newly released book, Baked Elements. I love scones, so was really looking forward to trying this recipe.
Sprinkled with Demerara sugar and ready to bake |
When we were kids, my brother used to put peanut butter on everything. He’d even make tacos from pancakes, filling them with peanut butter and bacon. So, naturally, I thought of him while I baked these and he will receive the lion’s share of them.
Oats, Peanut Butter, and Chocolaty goodness ~ it’s what’s for breakfast! |
What if you took your 3 favorite cookies, rolled them all up together, baked them up into scones and ate them for breakfast? Yes, chocolate for breakfast! I’d say that’s a great start to any day! These scones are so quick and easy to whip up that you can have them on the table in under an hour. If you love baking, we’d love to have you join us!

These look delicious! I would love to have one of these for breakfast with a big cup of coffee– it does have so many great flavors all in one! I’ve been eyeing the new Baked cookbook on Amazon so I always love to come read the group’s opinions on the recipes– I think I may have to take the plunge and get a copy!

Susan, The last time I baked scones (round) that I found on your Blog, I gained 3 pounds. No kidding. The maple, oat, and I think, toasted almonds scones. I am absolutely positively not making these. They look and sound too delicious. Are you home yet? We missed you Friday.
The Café Sucré Farine says
Susan, you’ve outdone yourself this time! I’m not a chocolate for breakfast person but these could make me change my mind!
