Dorie Greenspan’s Classic Banana Bundt Cake ~ Susanized!


I love Dorie Greenspan’s book, Baking from My Home to Yours.  I’ve learned so much from reading it and baking from it.  One of the things I like best is how Dorie encourages creativity and personalizing of her recipes – she refers to this as “Playing Around.”  I refer to it as “Susanized.”

To make my version, follow her directions to make the batter.  

Cinnamon Sugar

In a small bowl, thoroughly combine:
1/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
2 teaspoons Cinnamon

Pour 2/3 of batter into a 12-cup bundt cake pan.
Layer with Cinnamon Sugar, 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips, and 1/2 cup crushed Walnuts.
Pour remaining batter over filling making sure to cover it all.

Bake according to directions.

    This looks like something that would be good to do in that mini bundt pan I bought years ago that I haven’t used once yet. Banana bundt (with chocolate) sounds kinda breakfasty to me. Mm…
