Lacy Panty Cakes with Whiskey Sauce ~ Baked Sunday Mornings

February 17, 2013 by susanelester 15 Comments

Put your Lacy Panties on!
This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for Lacy Panty Cakes with Whiskey Sauce.

Yes, you read that right!

Lacy Panty Cakes!  Woo Hoo!  Aren’t they mysterious?  Do you make them while wearing lacy panties?  Do you eat them while wearing your lacy panties?

I’ll never tell!  What I will tell you is that they’re amazing!  And, let’s just say that sauce may inspire you to buy some lacy panties!

John’s favorite mug!

We made these for breakfast, but you can have them anytime.  They would be a wonderful treat for overnight guests.  I thought the graham cracker crumbs would make the pancakes crunchy, but they blended right in to these light, sweet, delicious cakes that are kissed with whiskey.  But, wait, there’s more…the whiskey sauce…which is amazing!  It’s a brown sugar caramel sauce that’s served warm over the warm pancakes.  We served them with bacon.

Just fabulous!

We will be sure to make these when our nephews, Jonathan & Jordan, come to visit.  John graduated from high school in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he acquired a taste for whiskey and learned all about it.  Good uncle that he is, he’s sharing his knowledge with our nephews and giving them tasting lessons.  So, imagine how much they’d enjoy whiskey for breakfast!

Enjoy!

When I saw the title of the post, I had to first supress a school girl giggle and secondly double check whose blog I was on 🙂

P.S. Whiskey sauce – you had me right there.

    Have a lovely day!

Love the addition of powdered sugar to your pancakes!! I too loved the whiskey sauce. I can’t wait to try it on ice cream. The pancakes however, I didn’t enjoy as much. But I’m glad I tried them!
