This month marks the third anniversary of our foray into the world of food blogging! We have learned so much and made wonderful friends all around the globe. We started cataloging our recipes to share with our family and our blog has grown beyond our imagining.
We participate in two on-line groups:
French Fridays with Dorie, which will also turn 3 this year, is a truly diverse group of international chefs who are working our way through the over 300 recipes in Dorie Greenspan’s “Around My French Table.” We cook and post weekly (most of the time!) and have made everything from Gougeres to Chicken B’Stilla! We’ve learned so many techniques and flavor combinations that our cooking will never be the same. We have truly bonded with many of our fellow Doristas – as Trevor has dubbed us – and, in fact, are looking forward to meeting many of them at the International Food Bloggers Conference in Seattle this fall where Dorie will be the keynote speaker!
We also participate in Baked Sunday Mornings where we are working our way through all 3 of Matt Lewis and Renato Poliafito’s Baked cookbook series. We are very close to finishing up their second book, Baked Explorations, and have also started baking from their newest book, Baked Elements. Once we finish the second book, we will include recipes from their first book, Baked: New Frontiers in Baking. Matt and Renato are so supportive of our group and they frequently interact with us. Our Facebook page includes a photo album called “BakedSpotting” where members post photos of their meetings with the famous duo!
And, now the part you’ve all been waiting for! You’ve heard us mention Penzeys Spices so often that we’d like to give you a chance to try them for yourself. These giveaways are from us to you, at our cost – they are not sponsored by Penzeys. In order to receive them, the winners will have to provide us with their mailing addresses.

If you have a preference for which spice set you would like, say so, otherwise, you will automatically be entered to win each one. We regret, that due to shipping costs, our giveaway is limited to the U.S. and Canada.
We will select 2 winners at random at 9 p.m. PDT on Friday, 22 March. Both winners will have 3 days to contact us and provide their mailing addresses. If we do not hear from the first seletees by 9 p.m. PDT on Monday, 25 March, we will select replacements.
Thank you so much for your love and support ~ we’re looking forward to seeing where the next 3 years take us on this journey with you!

Congratulations on 3 years of delicious creations, Susan! 🙂
Oh Susan, it´s so great to be with you for your 3rd birthday! You´re one of my first friends and am so happy to `know´ you! Have a great weekend both of you.
Congratulations on three years! I am so glad you decided to jump into the Blogosphere!
P.S. The Dude and I discussed IFBC and I am planning on signing up this weekend. I can’t wait to meet the Dorista contingent!
P.P.S. You could make almost anything for me and I would happily scarf it up 🙂
Congrats on three years of blogging! It seems like the appropriate occasion to say that I love your blog and hope that you stick around for three more years. Your personality really comes through in your posts and the food which you make always looks like real food which I would want to make in my own kitchen. Keep it up.
Congratulations! That’s so wonderful! Keep up the amazing work 🙂
3 years!! Congratulations! Honestly, if you showed up to make something for me, I’d take anything! I’ve seen so many wonderful recipes being made on your blog and they all look yummy!
I’d love to win the one with the cinnamon…..I’ve heard so many rave reviews on that!
I have been looking at the IFBC website and it does look tempting. I’ve never been to one before.
Happy anniversary to your marvelous blog, Susan! I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since we both started blogging…and almost 3 years since we met and started sharing our FFwD posts. It’s fitting that we’ll be be able to toast our journey in person this September…we’re going to have a blast!!!! xo
Susan and John, Félicitations. I have been lucky enough to know you both virtually for 2 1/2 of those years and personally for 2 weeks. You have always offered me friendship and support through life and death and laughter and silliness and fabulous cooking experiences and not-so-fabulous cooking experiences. If you and John were cooking a meal for me, I would want something “fishy” from your favorite chez poissonnerie with a side of fresh asparagus plus something doused with Licor 43 and, of course, your maple bundt cake in honor of how we originally bonded. As far my preferred Pensey product? Anything. I love their spices. See you in Seattle.
A very happy anniversary on your delightful blog Susan – I have enjoyed following your adventures in the kitchen and so look forward to meeting you in Seattle 😉
