|Caramel Custard poured over Toasted Almonds|
This week’s French Fridays with Dorie challenge is for this gorgeous, autumnal Caramel-Almond Custard Tart. It’s Sweet Tart Pastry is scattered with lightly toasted almonds then filled with a lovely caramel custard. I’m kind of obsessed with caramel so was really looking forward to making this.
Dorie’s Sweet Tart Pastry only has a few ingredients so it comes together quickly and turns out perfectly every time! It’s delicate, lightly sweet, and so buttery.

This tart would be perfect for Thanksgiving because it looks so elegant but is easy to prepare. All you need is a little patience. It has all the flavor you expect from a special dessert but it’s far lighter – and you can cut as small, or large, a piece as you like! We did wonder about substituting Amaretto for one, or both, of the tablespoons of milk – maybe next time.
