Baked Sunday Mornings: Root Beer Bundt Cake

November 10, 2013 by susanelester

Easy, fudgy, and delicious!

Thomas was feeling left out!

This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for Good Morning Sunshine Bars but I needed a great cake recipe for our niece’s boyfriend’s birthday.  This Root Beer Bundt Cake comes from the very first Baked book, Baked: New Frontiers in Baking.

It’s the perfect cake to take with you to a party! This cake comes together without a mixer and this is the easiest Baked frosting I’ve ever made – just toss all the ingredients into the food processor, and – Voila!  Perfectly fudgy Root Beer Frosting!

Most importantly, the Birthday Boy loved it!

Happy Birthday, Frank!

Did you find the root beer flavour came through in the cake? A friend was just describing to me last week that she made this and couldn’t taste the root beer!

Hey, Robyn! I could really taste the Root Beer in the cake, but not very much in the frosting which tasted more like fudge. In any case, it was super-moist & delicious!

I’ve been wanting to make this cake for ages– it looks lovely, and I may just have to get around to it sooner rather than later. Glad you and the birthday guest of honor enjoyed it. 🙂
