This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for Good Morning Sunshine Bars but I needed a great cake recipe for our niece’s boyfriend’s birthday. This Root Beer Bundt Cake comes from the very first Baked book, Baked: New Frontiers in Baking.
It’s the perfect cake to take with you to a party! This cake comes together without a mixer and this is the easiest Baked frosting I’ve ever made – just toss all the ingredients into the food processor, and – Voila! Perfectly fudgy Root Beer Frosting!
Most importantly, the Birthday Boy loved it!
Happy Birthday, Frank!

Oh this bundt looks so fudgy and decadent!
This was the very first cake I made from that book- my first of many to come. It is delicious and has an interesting flavor. Yours looks great!
This recipe never appealed to me, but your cake looks so fudgy and good that I might have to make it sometime!
It sure does look good….not sure about root beer and chocolate together…hmmmm. Interesting!
A rogue with a mission! Very nice! And the cake looks yummy. Great cat pic. heehee. I love going back to the first book and finding good recipes.
I love the root beer bundt. It’s so fudge and delicious!!
Ooh – I’ll have to check this recipe out! The cake looks wonderful! The first Baked book is probably my favorite.
Did you find the root beer flavour came through in the cake? A friend was just describing to me last week that she made this and couldn’t taste the root beer!
Hey, Robyn! I could really taste the Root Beer in the cake, but not very much in the frosting which tasted more like fudge. In any case, it was super-moist & delicious!
Beautiful!! I bet your family is happy that you are the birthday cake baker in the family!
Looks delicious! Love your cat photobomb haha.
I’ve been wanting to make this cake for ages– it looks lovely, and I may just have to get around to it sooner rather than later. Glad you and the birthday guest of honor enjoyed it. 🙂
