I love apple dumplings, but I’ve never made them before. I couldn’t believe how easy and how incredibly delicious these were! The apples were perfectly done and the flavors were great. The pastry is delicate and crisp. I used pecans in place of raisins in the filling. And the cider sauce was the perfect finishing touch.
Baked Apple Dumplings with Cider Sauce
Since there are only two of us, I halved the recipe. I also baked them in individual pie plates rather than on a baking sheet. We thought the half apple size was perfect.
This would be a great dessert for a dinner party because it can ll be done ahead, then placed in the oven while dinner is being served, then served warm – delicious!
