Baked Sunday Mornings: Easy Candy Bar Tart

July 5, 2014 by susanelester

Layers of flavor!

This week’s Baked Sunday Mornings challenge is for this amazing chocolate, caramel, walnut tart that has been tragically mis-named.  It should be called “Magical Candy Bar Tart” or “Amazing Candy Bar Tart.”  It was easy to make but so incredibly elegant and delicious.  We served it as part of a dessert buffet on the 4th of July and it was the stand-out favorite.

So much better than any candy bar I’ve ever had!

The recipe calls for a 9-inch springform pan but I only have a 10-inch pan, so I made 1 1/2 times the recipe which was fortunate considering how much everyone loved it.  Seriously, imagine toasted walnuts bathed in caramel nestled in a bed of chocolate crust covered in chocolate ganache.  Need I say more?  This tart is easy to make but oh-so-elegant to serve!

Happy 4th of July!

I like how the chocolate is a full layer on the top of yours, Mine just barely covered the walnuts. I liked this but I almost found it too sweet. Not sure what’s wrong with me today!

Ha, I love your alternate names for the tart — and that luscious, thick layer of chocolate on top!

I think about stuff like recipe titles too, jaja! You reminded me of two tarts I used to make, similar to this one. I need to try this recipe! Anything from those books turns out amazing!
